Communications Assistant Student

The Communications Assistant will join a high performing team supporting marketing, internal communications, social media engagement, and writing requirements to deliver effective, thoughtful and impactful communications across General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a keen eye for detail, a passion for online engagement and the ability to juggle often competing priorities.

Based remotely:

Our first and foremost priority remains the health and safety of our colleagues. As a result, this role will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. The primary location of this role is Ottawa.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a wide array of written materials, including: social media posts, web content, internal communications products, and marketing collateral.
• Assist in the development, co-ordination and execution of the social media strategy.
• Assist in the implementation of the internal communications strategy.
• Shoot still imagery and video.
• Assist in the co-ordination of internal and external events.
• Work as a successful team member in a collaborative, cooperative work environment.
• Work in line with business units and corporate policy.
• Carry out ad-hoc communication projects, as required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
