    Are you interested in beginning your career path as an information systems security professional? The cyber security field is rapidly evolving with an ever-growing need for talented individuals. There are numerous paths to gaining entry into this field as a career such as networking security, physical security, application and database security, security testing and auditing and disaster recovery and business continuity. At GD Canada, using the key tenets of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability you have the chance to get involved in all these paths on your way to becoming a Cyber Security professional.


    As an entry level Cyber Security practitioner, you will work alongside a number of security professionals to assist in providing state of the art Computer Network Defense security solutions for General Dynamic Enterprise Information Systems. Your work will allow you to be engaged with some of the most advance Security monitoring system that protects General Dynamic intellectual property.



    The responsibilities of the awarded candidate will include:

    • Security monitoring, event detection, response and ongoing enforcement
    • Security test of new IT services
    • Risk assessment on software
    • Continuous monitoring of security compliancy on endpoints
    • Become familiar and assist with security vulnerability analyses and security patch management in a complex network
    • Continue to grow as an aspiring passionate information security professional.
    • Manual task automation


    • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Familiarity with ISC2 and the 10 domains of the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) would be an asset
    • Communication: Able to communicate technical information clearly so that it may be understood by a non-technical individual
    • Able to apply technical concepts to specific tasks

    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent


    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
